LIVE SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Internationally Acclaimed Artists in the Classroom

Each year, the Chamber Music Society of Detroit works with visiting artists to present well-designed lecture-demonstration programs to students across Southeast Michigan, from elementary through high school ages.  These programs go far beyond simple exposure: the CMSD’s Ensembles-in-Residence have special expertise as teaching artists, able to challenge students to listen actively, make curricular connections, and contribute their own thoughts and impressions as active participants. The programming variety exposes students to instruments and types of music they might otherwise not experience in a live setting, helping to expand their appreciation of the arts and the world.
