Zukerman ChamberPlayers caps 70th Season

World-renowned violinist Pinchas Zukerman brings the Zukerman ChamberPlayers to Seligman Performing Arts Center for a festive close to the CMSD's historic 70th season. Featuring violist Jethro Marks, cellist Amanda Forsyth and pianist Angelo Cheng in addition to Mr. Zukerman playing violin, the ensemble performs music of Mozart and Brahms. Cavani String Quartet Residency Inspires Area Students

For the second time this season, the Cavani String Quartet is in Detroit, visiting schools, teaching students, and inspiring the next generation of performers, listeners and fans of great chamber music.  Faculty members at the fames Cleveland Institute of Music, the members of the Cavani Quartet are known nationwide for their unique expertise in music education and community engagement of all kinds.  For the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 season, the Cavani Quartet has been named the Chamber Music Society of Detroit Master Quartet-in-Residence.  To learn more about this valuable program, click here:

Historic 70th Season Campaign Nears Completion of Ambitious $1 Million Goal

The Chamber Music Society of Detroit Campaign for the 70th Season is approaching its goal of $1 million - the first time such an amount has ever been raised in a single campaign in the organization's history.  Begun 18 months before the start of the CMSD's historic 70th season, the campaign is supporting the continuing excellence of chamber music concerts, the expansion of educational programs and new program initiatives, and an unprecedented effort to expand the CMSD's audience to the next generation of passionate music listeners.  For information, or to make a contribuition, click here:

Elected to the CMA Board 

Chamber Music Society of Detroit President Steve Wogaman has been elected to the Board of Directors of Chamber Music America, the national service association for the chamber music field, for a term of three years.  A member of Chamber Music America since the late 1980's, Steve has been attending CMA conferences throughout his career.  For more information about Chamber MusicAmerica, click here:
