Education

CMDetroit’s education initiatives focus on one main goal: to nurture a lifelong love of music for students at any age, level, and educational capacity.

In-School Programs

Part of the reason the CMDetroit is so renowned for our educational offerings is our ability to adapt our programing to the specific needs of schools and community organizations. We have the experience and curriculum to do everything from ‘informances’ for less advanced or younger groups, where our artists will do a mix of performing and explanation with a question and answer for students at the end, all the way to advanced sessions of artists coaching of young chamber ensembles in the skills needed to play this art form. In a typical year, CMDetroit visits preschools, elementary, middle and high schools, schools for differently abled students, as well as universities.

Annually, We do more than 25 in school performances around Metro Detroit. What’s great about our education programming is that we are able to come directly to you – whether that be a classroom, gymnasium, or auditorium.

If you have interest in hosting a CMDetroit ensemble in your school, please contact Steve Wogaman, President, at steve@cmdetroit.org
